Zambezi Point wedding Photography – Hein & Clarissa

Zambezi Point in pretoria wedding photography by JC Crafford Photography

Hein & Clarissa’s wedding was at Zambezi Point in the North of Pretoria in Gauteng. I do a lot of weddings there, and every time I photograph a wedding there I appreciate more and more the effort that they put into every couples’ special day.

Hein and Clarissa. Two such sweet special people, caring, loving and always taking everyone else in consideration. It was so awesome to be a part of the day of two such awesome people. They truly deserve to be together.

Something to laugh about. We were taking a photograph of Hein and Clarissa on a motorbike when Hein’s trousers tore from the front to the back. It was VERY funny. Poor Hein, i think he was a bit embarrased but handled it very well. Luckily he kad some trousers that was almost the same colour as his suit’s trousers and he could put it on later the evening after somebody fetched it.

Something I’ve never seen at a wedding: The handed out some masks with the first dance, everybody had to wear a mask (Hein and Clarissa included) when they opened the dance floor.

th whole evening was filled with fun, love and laughter, and of course our photobooth, Flossie, the very special photobus was also there for the guests to entertain themselves with.

I asked Clarissa a couple of questions on how they met, their wedding and the honeymoon.

How did you meet?
We met through friends of ours. Both of us quite stubborn and not really interested, until the official meet, from there the rest is history and a really bright future.

Tell us about the proposal
On the same day Hein proposed was my work’s year end function. It was a very formal affair, collar and tie, high heels and fancy dresses, we had such a blast. With a great dinner and dancing the night away at the after party. We arrived home in the early morning with Hein disappearing for a short while, coming back, dropping to one knee, teary eyed looking at me, asking the VERY BIG question, if I will do him the honour of becoming his wife? WHAT? As all of you know, I said YES!! Caught off guard and completely unexpected, but over the moon kind of happiness. Precious, but priceless moment in our life.

Describe your wedding day, anything specific that you will always remember

Our wedding day was above all and any expectations. We had such a precious and special ceremony. Together, becoming one with God. One thing we will be able to keep with us for eternity is to, not only LOVE one another but to stay INLOVE for always and ever. The whole day went by so quickly. One moment doing make-up and the next handing out flower arrangements to parents and heading to the after party venue.

I will always remember the moment my father and I walked down the isle and the only person I can see is my almost husband, standing at the end of the isle waiting for me and only me.

The story behind my dress,

My mother and I went out looking for the most perfect dress for me. At the first place we stopped, little did I know it would be the last place. At Bride & Co.

After fitting a number of dresses, none of them felt like “THIS IS THE DRESS”! With only one dress left to fit, and seeing it was a size 6, why even bother, so I got dressed and head to the car. Halfway to the car a voice in my head said, just fit it, what can you loose? I turned around, fit that dress and WOW, this is MY dress. That one I went home with.

Highlight of the wedding

To know that we will not die alone one day,

The feeling of being loved and becoming one with God in our lives.

Was there any drama

Luckily there were no drama at all, the night was so busy, that if any we were not aware of drama.

The Honeymoon

The honeymoon was amazing. We had such an amazing time at Sun City. We went quad biking through a nature reserve, went on an early morning game drive through the Pilansberg Reserve, getting soakingly wet to the bone, because it was raining the entire drive, but had awesome sightings. We also went on an adrenalin pumping zip line, high tea at the Lost City Palace and just having a blast!!

Tell us about your photographer.
JC Crafford is the best photographer we ever came across. Very professional, but also so relaxed. He made us feel very comfortable. Very very genuine guy, like we knew him since forever. Will recommend JC to any and every couple, family and everyone for any photo shoots!

Where was your honeymoon?
We went to Sun City for a week after the wedding, and will continue the rest in December where we will be going to Cape Town for two weeks.

Do you have any advice for other brides/grooms-to-be?
Advise for the groom is a happy fiancé = successful wedding, if she ask you to help with some wedding arrangements, it means she tried everything and it is now time to do your part. Do not ask how, just come up with a solution..  (LOL, You get this Hein, here is a tip for the future.JC)

Advise for the brides; my now husband told me not to plan too much for the wedding day, just go with the flow. Things will not always work out as planned and time goes by extremely quickly. Enjoy the day and leave planning and activities for the MC and the bride’s maids to handle.

P.S be warned not everything will go according to plan.

What was your inspiration behind your overall wedding decor and colour choices?
The inspiration came from our love for nature and the bushveld, nothing over the top but still stylish.

Hein and Clarissa, thanks for asking me to be your wedding photographer. It was so nice to be there with you and experience everything first hand. I really, really love you guys and I hope we see some more of you in the future.
