Early morning, and I’m off to Bethal for Pieter and René’s wedding at Grasslands in Bethal. The weather didn’t look very promising,by that I mean for me, and the photo shoot, but Pieter, his dad, his father in law and a lot of other guests are farmers, and they were very excited about the prospect of rain!
Well, it did rain, a lot, the farmers were happy, but the bride was not, we had to do the whole shoot indoors.
The rain didn’t dampen the spirits though, the rest of the party was a HUGE success and everybody enjoyed it tremendously.

I asked Reneé a couple of questions about her wedding:
How did you meet?
We both live on a farm very close to each other never met each other until I went jogging one day and this farmer came chasing past me in his big bakkie, I just carried on and he turned around and introduced himself “LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT” we were in a long distance relationship for 4 years I studied at the university of Pretoria and he was farming in Mpumalanga Ermelo. It was tough but wê made it our happily ever after started 6 Dec 2014
Tell us about the proposal
Pieter asked me to date on the boat at their dam house, and he did the same for the proposal with a picnic it was his most romantic picnic
Describe your wedding day, anything specific that you will always remember
I just prayed that it won’t rain for weeks I checked the weather. It did not rain until I walked into church and it never stopped, I was disappointed but quickly had to make a choice that I have to make the best of it. Everything turned out to be perfect except that wê could not take photos outside. Wê had lots of fun and danced the night away.
The dress
I searched for my dress on the internet just after our engagement and my mind didn’t change in a year’s time my father order it for me and was exactly the right size and everything just how I wanted it
The Flowers
My loving grandmother 75 years old did all my flowers what a BLESSING she is
Highlight of the wedding
The whole day was a highlight
Was there any drama
Except for the rain not at all. And by the way the rain turned out a blessing instead drama
The Honeymoon
2 wonderful weeks of good rest.

Do you have any advice for other brides/grooms-to-be?
Do everything you can the day before your wedding the day of your wedding don’t even try thinking of things not done or you can change. Just let it be!
What was your inspiration behind your overall wedding decor and colour choices?
I had alot of my own ideas and my mother was a big inspiration. And pinterest of course
