Makiti Wedding

Vincent and Simone. I don’t think you get much nicer people than this. I am so happy to have been their wedding photographer. Vincent must be one of the funniest guys I’ve seen. We had some good laughs during their wedding shoot. Especially when we photographed the part where everybody was jumping into the air. We had to re-shoot that about 6 times. I think they felt like they’re on a training camp or something like that.

They got married at Makiti Wedding Venue in Kromdraai near Krugersdorp. I’ve been the photographer there a couple of times already. I must tell you, I don’t think it’s possible to get much better service and food anywhere. The owner Jaco is also a pastor. He is actually one of the very few ministers who I’m actually looking forward listening too. The venue is also any wedding photographer’s dream … beautiful gardens and a lot of places to take your wedding photographs.

Vincent and Simone been in the same church for three years … not really noticing each other (and these two go to church REGULARLY.) He started noticing her later on and decided to work through her sister and best friend. He invited them to play squash with him and asked them gradually if she would be interested in going out with him (clever man).

He created a facebook profile, invited her … and started chatting with her on Facebook. He eventually asked her out to a movie. They went out for 8 months and got engaged after that. They got engaged in Gansbaai. He made a bet with her that he would get a bigger shell than she, she just picked up small little shells. When she looked around to see how he was doing he was kneeling with a huge shell (not picked up at Gansbaai) in his hand with her engagement ring in it.

Her first thought was … where did he get such a big shell!
