Bosboma Wedding Photography
A small, intimate but VERY nice wedding. Hennie and Jackie only invited their closest friends and family for their wedding, but man, was this an enjoyable wedding, one of the best I’ve been at. And might I add, an awesome group of people. They got married at the Bosboma in Kameelfrift close to Pretoria. It was the first time that I’ve been there as a wedding photographer, but i fell in love with the place straight away.
I asked Jackie to answer a few questions about their wedding:
How did you meet? Hennie and I first met when we taught together at a school in Botswana.
Tell us about the proposal: Hennie whisked me off for a romantic weekend in Knysna.
Describe your wedding day, anything specific that you will always remember: Our wedding day brought together all the elements of things that are special to us – our family and friends, the Bushveld and braaiing!
The dress: The dress was made in Miri, Malaysia. It was a champagne colour and epitomized retro elegance.
The Flowers: My bouquet was 3 earthy colored arum lilies. There was a big bouquet of roses on the table and beautiful gerbera in bottles.
Highlight of the wedding: Seeing each other as I walked down the aisle. It felt as though we were falling in love all over again.
Was there any drama: No drama, but we did have a few heart-stopping moments when my son, Kevin, who was going to walk me down the aisle, got lost en route!
The Honeymoon: Pending 🙂
Tell us about your photographer: JC was amazing! I am camera shy and was very nervous about the photo shoot. He immediately put me at my ease and Hennie and I enjoyed the whole experience. Each pose was carefully planned and the guests also took advantage of his presence to have some lovely photos taken.
Who did your make-up and hair? Odette Will (071 5000460) transformed me into a beautiful bride! She understood what I wanted and then improved on it.
Any other suppliers that you want to mention? Bosboma was a fantastic setting for a Bushveld wedding.
We also want to thank Hennie’s sister, Ronel du Toit for organising absolutely everything while we were still in Malaysia.
Where was your honeymoon? We plan on going on safari.
Do you have any advice for other brides/grooms-to-be? Rely on your family to give you good advice and support you.
What was your inspiration behind your overall wedding decor and colour choices? We love Africa, so our colour choices were earthy, neutral colours. The setting at Bosboma was beautiful, natural Bushveld.
