WELCOME TO MY HOME ON THE INTERNET
This is what I was born to do …my passion,my first love, ….FREEZING MOMENTS IN TIME… I’ve had my first camera when I was 4 years old, and I’ve had one in my hand ever since. Photography is not something I HAVE to do…it is something I WANT to do.
Here is three of my first photos I took (my mother kept them for me all these years!)
My dad, Bertie, was a very enthusiastic part time photographer and put himself through university by photographing weddings. My earliest memories are of my dad and myself in his studio or darkroom developing photos. Here is a picture of him with his Rolleiflex in his young days. (Thanks dad, for helping me to nurse my skills and develop the interest I have in photography today!)
I’m married to the most incredible and gorgeous woman on planet earth, Surika, she not only inspired me to life my dream and become a photographer, she is also a professional graphic and web designer. (It really helps to have somebody like that sitting next to you when you are battling with something in photoshop!) (I’m not going to place a photo of her…I won’t be able to handle the stream of comments coming in)
I have three children, Bertie 20, Timothy 18 and little Miya 1.
My interests? Well, I’m a bit boring there, what I do professionally is what I do to relax, taking photos and editing it.
- We love nature, camping, and having a braai with good friends.
- I value loyalty and honesty above all.
- I LOVE food and preparing it.
- We love watching movies (I never make the 2 nd one!)
- I’m an incurable romantic (I shed a tear at EVERY wedding I photograph!)
- I think the internet is the best invention ever.
- I LOVE Canon.
- I REALLY love shopping and reading!
- I’m into 4×4′s…not sports cars.
I think there must be a perfect way to take a picture of every scene, person or object? I enjoy the excitement of trying to find the perfect angle, composition, light and method to find that perfect picture whenever I take a photograph.
I specialize in photographing weddings but also love to photograph families, children and models in my studio. I feel humbled and incredibly honored every time somebody trust me with capturing their memories.
